FAQ

Will this become a physical zine?
No, we currently have no plans to create a physical book for Social Warfare, nor any physical merch items. Social Warfare is a 100% digital fanthology!

Can I apply to more than one position?
Yes! Please submit a separate application for each position that you’re applying for. Contributors will only be selected to create a piece for ONE position.

What is the Regency era?
The Regency Period was a period in England from 1811 to 1820 when King George III was unable to rule and therefore his son ruled as regent in his stead. Despite only spanning a few years, the period is known for its distinctive trends in clothing, writing, art, and culture. This period also overlaps with the Napoleonic period in France.

I know nothing about Regency. Can I still apply?
Yes! Mods will provide resources to allow contributors to learn more about the period, such as clothing guides, basic etiquette guides, etc. We also have a Historian mod to help answer questions about the period. If you have a willingness to learn/ask questions, you can definitely be a part of this project!

Can I use a specific event or reference to the historical period for my piece?
The Regency Era also refers to a particular period of literature, fashion and art from those dates! If you wish to work with a specific reference to the Regency period, mods will work with individual contributors to help them find a Fodlan equivalent! For example, the Napoleonic wars could become the War between Adrestia/Leicester/Faerghus.

What can I get inspiration from for my piece?
Here are a few references you can check out:
Major Writers: Jane Austen, Sir Walter Scott, Mary Shelley, and Percy Bysshe ShelleyMajor Artists: Marguerie Gérard, Edmund Blair Leighton, Joseph Mallord William Turner, Frédéric SoulacroixModern Content set in the Regency Period: Pride and Prejudice (1995 miniseries, 2005 film), Vanity Fair (2004 film and 2018 series) Bridgerton (Netflix series/series of novels), Belle (2013 film), Emma (1996 and 2020 film), The Georgette Heyer novels.

Providing pitches in the application form will be optional. Acceptances will be decided solely on portfolios and pitched characters and/or ships.
